TERMS & OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES

Below is a summary of my operational procedures and basic T&Cs that I have in place. By coming on board as a customer automatically means you understand and agree all that is laid out below.

SCHEDULE

The schedule is every 4-6 weeks. 90% of the time I endeavour to follow a 6 weekly schedule, however there will be times that frequency will drop to maybe 4 or 5 weeks if its to meet business needs .
for example – I may have to bring work forward in order to accommodate a holiday, Xmas closures or it might be simply I’ve had to juggle days around because of a disruption to my schedule which could be sickness, adverse weather etc.

PAYMENTS

Payment terms are a strict same day payment terms, no exceptions , and to be paid via BACS
If there is any reason payment can’t be made in time, you need to contact me to discuss options. Continuously paying late and/or I’m forced to keep chasing for payment won’t be tolerated.

KEEPING TO SCHEDULE

Cleans are carried out approximately every 6 weeks , however as previously stated i can turn up anywhere between 4-6 weeks. It is your responsibility to just note on your calendar that ‘ the window cleaner is due’ .
It is with understanding that signing up to a window cleaning service automatically means ” regular cleans” and you are happy for me to turn up and go about my duties every 4-6 weeks until such time you no longer wish to have your windows cleaned.
* If you require just a ” one off ” clean you need to make this clear at first contact

CANCELLATIONS / SKIPPING CLEANS

If you wish to cancel your window cleaning agreement with me I do require sufficient notice, a months notice. Notice must be in writing either via email or text message. If you cancel on me the day before or on the day of your clean I will still require full payment, no exceptions this also applies to “skipping” cleans. If you ask me to skip your clean I will still need to be paid. If you have ‘building works’ planned then I need to notice. Cancelling last minute or telling me to skip because you’re suddenly having your back garden landscaped will still require me to be be paid in full. Same goes for if you are away. If you’re on holiday, I will still clean what I can, front only for example if access to the rear is not possible and of course will alter the price. But if I turn up and can’t access the rear because your on holiday and wasn’t notified you’ll still be charged full price. If I have to cancel on you last minute due to sickness, adverse weather or breakdowns then of course this won’t effect you and there won’t be any additional charge for the extra work put in to clean extra dirty windows on next scheduled clean. Normal price will be charged.

TEXTS/COMMUNICATION

It is important that if you are on social media , to follow the Facebook page as I keep it updated with any news , special offers, schedule disruptions, holidays I may have etc , so you’ll always be in the loop of what is going on .
Texts will be sent to you once I have completed your window clean which will notify you that I have been along with payment and bank details . I will also post a card through to say I’ve been .
Texts the night before or on the day of your clean will only be sent to customers where I require someone home to allow me access, or a key needs to be left out for me in a safe place .
Those properties where its front only cleans , or I am able to unbolt the side gate myself won’t recieve a text the day before .
Requests to be text the night before or day of a clean will be at my discretion and not always guaranteed.

SIDE GATES

If you forget to unlock the gate for me then I will simply clean what i can and adjust the price for you. However it is important to know that its a price adjustment, and doesn’t automatically mean ‘ half ‘ of whatever the full price is .
Price adjustment will only apply to anyone paying over £15.

IF in the event a text is sent the night before or morning of a clean and you forget to unlock the gate for me then full price will be charged .

DOG MESS

I love dogs, but please make sure your garden and area i need to work is free of dog mess.
In the event dog mess is visible, I will not clean that area, but you will still be charged full amount.

LADDERS

Beauty of using water fed poles is the minimal use of ladders. Please note I will always advise against the use of ladders in order to clean hard to reach windows, however I realise at times, a ladder is needed. I will only use a ladder and get on a roof that I feel safe with climbing on, a flat roof etc. Any roof that has too much of a gradient on it , then for my safety, those windows will have to be missed . Its just not worth risking breaking a leg or my neck. For those customers that I do use ladders on already, if the weather is damp or icy then those windows will have to be missed . And finally, please be aware that use of ladders carries a small risk of damage to your property, ie tiles crack or half pipe damage. I take great care when working on anyones property but should such damage occur then I won’t be held liable.

SEASONS/ WEATHER

I clean windows year round , I still need to pay my bills, eat and live over winter, so please bear that in mind. Window cleaning is a year round job , not just for spring and summer.

Adverse weather can delay my schedule. Generally light rain isn’t a problem , but heavy down pours, high winds and electrical storms will mean I will move work forward to the next day and continue to do so until i am able to carry on working. This is mainly for safety reasons.

ADDITIONAL WORK/DAY JOBS

Extra services like a conservatory roof cleans, fascias etc need to be pre- booked. I account for the water on board my van so very rarely can I do a spontaneous conservatory clean or something like that. A lot of the bigger jobs I will carry out on a Saturday morning.

A small ‘ non refundable ‘ deposit will be required to book and secure bigger jobs or all day jobs . If you cancel or then need to reschedule another day , then another deposit will be required .
In the event ‘I’ have to reschedule then I will carry your deposit forward for you .
In the event ‘ I’ have to cancel the job completely for whatever reason then I will refund the deposit.

HOURS OF BUSINESS

MONDAY – FRIDAY 8.30AM – 4PM
WEEKENDS – APPOINTMENT ONLY AND SUBJECT TO ANY PERSONAL COMMITMENTS THAT I HAVE ON.

NOT HAPPY WITH A CLEAN??

I pride on having a good reputation and it overjoys me receiving a positive review. I will always strive to do a good job on your windows along with being your local, friendly, reliable window cleaner, however… I am human, mistakes can be made, and like anyone else can have an ‘off’ day. If a window is left dirty or I miss a window, it’s certainly not done intentionally. It could be various reasons, needed more rinsing or a bird poops on the glass after I’ve left or could just be as simple as I’m having a day where something in my personal life has challenged me mentally. Please don’t just drop me as your window cleaner, talk to me , make me aware and I will endeavour to rectify any issue by returning or if I cant, then will offer next clean a bit cheaper for you.
Please note though , anything you’re not happy with, I need to be notified that day. If you contact me day or two after telling me a window is dirty or something like that then there won’t be a lot I can do.

TIMES

I can’t guarantee times. I will endeavour to meet peoples needs where possible, but all I can do is text the night before to say I am due to clean your windows the following day at some point.
